Water Turn

Our bi-weekly water turn...it's a way of life in a rural area. You get a water turn on a certain day which means water comes down the ditch for you to water your pasture with or lawn in my case. We use our one share of Tribal water to water the biggest part of our lawn.

Water comes down our ditch and we dam it up when it gets to us and flood this part of our lawn. It keeps it green and healthy enough and sure beats having to water it with a sprinkler. When our turn is over, we take our dam out and send the water down to the next guy.

The ditch took quite a beating over the extra long winter though and we had alot to do to get it ready. We had to burn leaves, dig it out a bit more and we put in a culvert so we could drive over that part of the ditch without getting stuck or tearing up the lawn.

The kids thought it was much fun to watch their dad burn dead leaves and weeds. Easily amused here in Neola, aren't we? ;-)

Welcome To RedneckVille!

We are Redneckville! We've got a menagarie of CRAP goin' on on the lawn these days. The shed caved in from all the snow we had, Karter ran the truck through the garage door a couple of years ago and we had to patch the hole up with plywood after taking the bashed in garage door down (I was teaching him how to back up. He missed reverse though and slammed down into drive. oops!), the love seat and chair are out on the lawn because I drug them out for the Neola community yard sale last weekend (which, btw, I made 43 dollars off other random stuff and a bunch of baby clothes..wohoo! but I really wanted to get rid of that loveseat and chair, dangit!), and the ditch. Can't hide that ditch. Lookin' Good Rook Acre!

Open For Business

Wanna buy a pocket? How about a really cool rock? Welcome to Kai, Ally and Kenyon's store!

Ally spent all of her birthday money on clothes so she's trying to earn some more. She makes these little pockets and sells them. They're not cheap either. The girl is not underpricing her items. I've shelled out as much as 5 bucks for her special pockets. ;-) I only gave Kai a dollar for his coolest rock though. But, he has to give his sister a cut of any money he brings in. She is definitely in charge of the store and he just works there. Kenyon just works there too, but I'm not sure he gets paid. Kai just wants money to buy popcorn and snowcones at the ball park. I think they may give Kenyon a few bites of whatever they buy.

Cute! Cute! Cute!

My new neice is ADORABLE! I love her to pieces. She is just so sweet and so cute and my little brother is just the cutest dad ever (I KNEW he would be!). Grizz, my brother, is the first love of my life. I have loved my little brother more than the average sibling since the day he was born. He's just that special kind of guy that gets to a person and has a certain charisma that makes people just love him. He's always been my favorite. My big brother and I both have a special affinity for Grizz. I already love his little girl that much too. She is just SO SWEET. I cannot wait for her to get bigger and start smiling and laughing and moving around. Aunt Jenn is gonna spoil this kid ROTTEN. My kids all adore her too.

Ally thinks she's cool in first grade since she gets to see the teacher's baby all the time and because it's HER cousin.

Kai is enamoured with Teddy. He marvels at her tiny little fingernails and hands and just can't get enough of her. He will sit and hold her for 30 min. at a time. He LOVES Baby Teddy.
