Water Turn

Our bi-weekly water turn...it's a way of life in a rural area. You get a water turn on a certain day which means water comes down the ditch for you to water your pasture with or lawn in my case. We use our one share of Tribal water to water the biggest part of our lawn.

Water comes down our ditch and we dam it up when it gets to us and flood this part of our lawn. It keeps it green and healthy enough and sure beats having to water it with a sprinkler. When our turn is over, we take our dam out and send the water down to the next guy.

The ditch took quite a beating over the extra long winter though and we had alot to do to get it ready. We had to burn leaves, dig it out a bit more and we put in a culvert so we could drive over that part of the ditch without getting stuck or tearing up the lawn.

The kids thought it was much fun to watch their dad burn dead leaves and weeds. Easily amused here in Neola, aren't we? ;-)

You need to email me the pictures of the girls at the park with the grass in their shirts so I can post it :)

There is nothing like flood irrigating. It gets the job done fast. Teddy is so cute. You all did a very good job on Sunday. It was really fun to have a big Sacrament Meeting.
