My Great Grandpa Phillips started our family Memorial Day tradition. He had two sons buried in the Roosevelt Cemetary and he made sure the rest of the family took care of their headstones and decorated their graves every Memorial Day. My grandparents faithfully followed suit and so do we. We will be at that cemetary every Memorial Day at 10 am come rain or shine. It's a tradition I have always enjoyed and hope my kids enjoy it.
Ally was handing out Veterans poppies and collecting donations. She looked so cute most people didn't say 'No' when she told them they could donate if they wanted to.
Helping Uncle Grizz clean headstones....
Kenyon found one with bird poop on it....
My mother makes sure every person from her family that has passed away has flowers on his or her headstone. Kai loved helping.
Pop and his Utah grandkids....

My Great Grandpa Phillips always made sure we took care of the pauper's headstones in the cemetary as well. We always put flowers on these two graves and dig their headstones out and clean them. The headstones are just concrete slabs and the one is quite small. We have to carve the name back out every year. Great Grandpa Phillips never knew these people, but noone else did either so he took care of their graves and so do we.
