Yehaw! Kid's Rodeo!

It's what we do for entertainment round here! We let a bunch of animals loose in a rodeo arena and let our kids chase, ride, & rope em'!

3 Rook kids...ready to rodeo! This was also the last time I got them to cooperate with the camera that night.

Grand entry and flag ceremony

Ready to chase some animals! Set em' up, boys!

Line em' up, moms!

Kai and Adi can't wait!

Turn em' loose!!

I have no idea what kid is what but I do know that is Sam Taylor's butt. He had that rope and said he was going to rope me if I picked up an animal for my kid. No way, Sam! If they don't pick em' up, we don't bring em' home but you can rope me if you want to anyway. (That would've been funny, huh? Should've done it, Sam.)

There's a flash of Kai! Behind the big bald guy....

Bunny goin' one way, Kai goin' the other. That's the way it went too. He didn't catch anything. None of my kids did. Skunked this year.

But I had a couple of sheep riders! Ally and Kai both rode sheep. My camera quit working before his ride, but he had a death grip on that wooly bugger and I think he was choking his sheep so it didn't run at all. He held on for quite a ways. Ally got dumped in 2 seconds, but she had fun. Kai thought it was the coolest thing ever and would've ridden sheep all night long if we'd let him. He was alot of fun at the kid's rodeo this year.

Charley Does Neola

Good times in Neola!

Charley Jenkins played a free concert for us here in Neola to kick off our Neola Community Celebration. It was a good show and our kids were just as entertaining as Charley. They all had a great time.

Some of "The Girls"

Love this pic. Pure Joy on those faces. They were having a ball and they LOVE Charley Jenkins.

Ally, Marleigh, Dallie and Jaicee Bastian. More of our "Neola Girls". What a cute group of girls they all are.

How cute is Alex?

Charley...workin' the crowd. "I just don't buy it, Charley." lol

Rodeo Royalty. How cute is Kimmie Black, the little princess? LOVE that girl!

Karter has had better days, but he enjoyed the music (I think).

Savannah and Delaney Duncan. The cutest sisters EVER!

Ally, Marleigh and Izzy.

Marleigh and Ally sure did put on a good show....

And the night just wasn't complete for Kenyon until he got that Charley Jenkins hat. He just HAD to have it. Happy now???

NOOOOOOOOO!

Possible broken wrist! OH NO!
Right in the middle of All-Stars and baseball tournament season. Bad timing. Karter took a spill on his bike and may have broken his wrist. Bummer, man. Serious bummer.

We'll get it checked out on Monday the 7th to see if it's really broken or if it's magically healed. It's in a splint right now to be cautious but it may be a scaphoid bone fracture. Hope and pray for magical healing between now and Monday, please!

He Looks Like a Big Boy Now!

Awwww! My baby's all grown up!
Kenyon got a short haircut and he looks SO cute. And so grown up. Like a different kid. He kept wanting his hair "piky" though. "Piky! Like Kai!". He loves his big brother and wants to do anything Kai does and says everything Kai does. Pretty cute!

More Baseball......

Baseball. That's what this summer is all about.

Karter is playing on a 9 year old and under traveling team (since we don't have a 10u team and since he is considered a 9 year old according to the rules) and he made All-Stars in the regular league. So, we've got alot of baseball going on. He's got practice pretty much everyday and sometimes twice a day and when he doesn't have practice I'm hitting him pop flies and grounders or working him in the batting cage. He's loving it. (Not loving that we won't let him golf right now though)

He's got a tournament this 4th of July holiday with the traveling team then his All-Star tournament is on the 14-18th of July. His All-Star team should do quite well. He's on there with alot of his friends, including Korbyn Bertoch and Weston Horrocks.

CARDINALS BEAT METS!!

OH YEAH! OH YEAH!
The Cardinals beat the stinkin' Mets today 7-1! WOHOO!

Several New York Mets hitters came in with gaudy career numbers against Kyle Lohse. They did next to nothing against the St. Louis Cardinals' resurgent right-hander. Lohse allowed one unearned run in seven innings of the Cardinals' 7-1 victory on Monday night.

Albert Pujols had two hits and two RBIs to back Lohse's seventh straight win.

*sigh* I do love Albert....

Chris Duncan added a two-run homer, his first since May 16, and Aaron Miles had three hits while extending his hitting streak to 12 games.

3 more games in the series. GO CARDINALS!!!

Girl's Camp, baby!

I ditched my family for this???

You bet I did! Girl's Camp was awesome. It wasn't so much the activities as it was the girls and other leaders that made it so great. Neola 1st Ward has some wonderful, beautiful, talented, spiritual and very fun girls. We are so blessed. These girls behaved well and we didn't have an ounce of drama between them. It was just FUN.

It's not quite the Girl's Camp I remember since we get to go up to the Heber Valley Camp, but I'm not complaining. Flush toilets, showers, sinks, commercial kitchens, cabins and already established fire pits. Not a whole lot of work involved and that's alright with me. There is also a lake to go canoeing in, a challenge ropes course, established hiking trails and a people hauler to get you to and from.

Great view too.....

Heber Valley

Mt. Timpanogos

I was worried about it getting too hot up there. That was a needless worry. It was cold and it actually snowed on Wednesday.

I love snow and thought it was alright until we all had to crowd into one cabin to do stuff....

So, even though it was cold and the wind was icy, it was great to be outside to play volleyball.

Drill Down

COLD (but fun)
Brayden Bastian- LOVE this girl! She was SO much fun.

Those Neola 2nd Ward leaders are a hoot too. Good time...

Adrie Bingham

Dee Dietz and Nikki Olsen

Lou and Hallie. Louann, as always, is a fun time. I was glad she stayed even though she didn't get much sleep. Was it my snoring???

Even though she didn't feel great, Amy put on a smile and had fun while she was there.

Keeping Shaylee Quick in line. No easy task. LOL

Think this is Annette's real smile? LOL Miranda was a trooper too.

Trying to keep warm....

Alexis

Katie, Britney & Haley

Snuggle up, Heaven!

Karli the Camoflauged Gnome...

BFF's

Em with little 1st year, Kimberly. Gosh I'm gonna miss Emily when she goes away to college. What an amazing young lady she is.

Annie....love that girl! What a goof and so much fun.

Shayla- she's just herself. Another really fun girl and a cool kid.

Shaylee was kinda sick that 1st day. It may have been the smell in that cramped cabin though.....
